Hayfield stars again on TV!

The-Village-market-sceneFollowing in the footsteps of Davina McCall when she stopped in Hayfield during her Sport Relief challenge in February, the BBC is back again in Hayfield filming Series 2 of the drama series, The Village.

After the grim realism of Series 1 set during the First World War, Series 2 takes place during the 1920s following the life of Bert Middleton as he grows up. Starring Maxine Peake, John Simm and Juliet Stevenson, the new series is due to air in late 2014.

Set in and around Hayfield, The Royal Hotel doubles as the outside of ‘The Lamb’ in the series and our car park is the setting for the market scenes. Look out for other locations in Hayfield, such as Hanson’s Greengrocer’s, and the cricket pitch where the boxing match and caravan scenes were shot.
